Snow.Wolf.Lake

雪狼湖, for the uninitiated, was the first full-length Chinese (or rather Cantonese) play made for the masses. This time round, the Mandarin version has landed in Singapore (thankfully) coz I can't understand Cantonese despite it really being a nice language.

Kinda left the show wif mixed feelings though.

First on foremost, muz really applaud the leads and supportings, really made the show rather enjoy, only part lamentable was Chen Song Ling's Mandarin, though I give her props for the effort... Would have liked Kit Chan as 玉凤 and Evonne as Snow though.

Secondly, ugh the music was juz too loud! Esp the parts where Evonne was screaming for help and screeching macham kenna rape like that... Totally too loud. Jacky's singing was kinda overpowering too, esp in comparison wif Evonne's floaty voice (which was kinda nice for her char).

Didn't like the event location either. Couldn't even see the actors faces! Then again it's kinda expected given it's SIS and not esplanade. (Mind you, I was sitting in the middle area liaoz...)

Lastly, I never knew Indoor Stadium's chairs could be SOOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE! God! It's like sitting on some uneven rock! And leg space was kinda non-existent too. Grrrr totally killed my attention span.

Word of advice to FEMALE frens going tml... Pls hor, rush to the toilet asap during the intermission (the part after Evonne is at the boat terminal...) The queue lasted well beyond the intermission and some poor souls missed the jail scene.

Still, nice show! Managed to get some (extremely far and blur) pictures. All the lights u see from the audience are also from ppl eagerly snapping away on their handphones... so not only me flaunt rule k!
