The Name Game

Something is totally screwing up my blogger coz I'm like typing in the middle of nowhere while the text box above is juz a calm sea of white...

Anyway during the paeds posting, realised another essential role parents play in the upbringing of the child. The naming process. I know my name killed quite a few milion braincells of my parents coz they spent quite a while, esp since needed to follow family naming rules of my clan.

Which also explains why my name has three ways of pronouncing it, depending on whether u are from my family, or a Chinese elite (in which case u truly know what the meaning is behind my name), or lastly, in some screwed up way which the majority calls me by.

Point is, I'm rather glad my parents were sensible enuff to leave me "Chinese" instead of giving me some half-F English name, esp since I wasn't like baptised or something. Den again if, u give ur daughter an english/christian name like SAGGY, I really gotta hand it to u. (As well as those my frens met in HK, including Wallpaper and photato, as in like potato except u pronounce fotato?)

(See KKWCH ward 56 picture along the corridor, between beds 30 and 31... if i remembered correctly...)

Here's Happy Children's Day to all poor kids with lousy names.

Yea I can't agree more. Love your children! Poor Saggy would probably hate her parents till she's 21 (and can change her name).

Photato takes the cake though ;)
